Designed to legally enforce physical security, business continuity, and strict environmental sustainability standards on cloud providers and data centres, the proposed legislation carries a massive financial threat—fines up to one million dollars or ten per cent of local turnover. As the public consultation period ticks away, tech conglomerates are realising that the era of self-regulation in the garden city is officially dead.
