Introduction
Newslyfe Press is an independent publishing platform. Reading content is available without registration. Publishing features require an account or guest session.
Our goal is to process only the data strictly necessary for the operation of the service. We do not use advertising, tracking, or user profiling.

Data We Collect
Technical data (all users)
- IP address
These data appear in server logs solely for technical and security purposes.
Guest users
- Guest ID — a randomly generated anonymous identifier stored in your browser's localStorage
- Draft articles associated with the guest ID
The guest ID does not contain personal data. Guest content is automatically deleted after 30 days of inactivity.
Registered users
- Email address (login identifier)
- Full name (displayed as author name)
- Password (stored as a bcrypt hash — the original password is never stored)
- Optional profile data: bio, profile photo, country, website
- Published and draft articles, uploaded images
- Google account name and email address — only if you sign in with Google

Data Retention
- Server logs: retained for a limited period for operational and security purposes
- Guest content (articles, images): automatically deleted 30 days after the last activity
- Registered account data: retained until the account is deleted upon request

Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access — request information about what data we hold about you
- Erasure — request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data in your profile
- Portability — request a copy of your data
