Arctic Vigilance: Iceland Takes the Lead of the Baltic Sea Council
Effective July 1, 2026, Iceland has officially assumed the rotating presidency of the Council of the Baltic Sea States (CBSS). Over the next twelve months, Foreign Minister Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir will steer the eleven-nation group, pivoting its focus heavily toward hybrid security threats and infrastructural defense.
