Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso took home the Grammy for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles for their record "Papota," beating out nominees including Aterciopelados' "Genes Rebeldes" and Bomba Estéreo's "Astropical." It was the Argentine duo's first Grammy win.

"We're very grateful for the opportunity that you've given us," Paco Amoroso said in Spanish during the acceptance speech. "Thanks to Argentina and all of Latin America, we love you."

The win follows a historic run at the 2025 Latin Grammys, where the duo earned ten nominations — the most ever for an Argentine project in a single year — and walked away with five awards, including Best Alternative Music Album for "Papota" and Best Alternative Song and Best Short Form Music Video for "#Tetas."

"Papota" blends alternative rock, pop, jazz and electronic influences, and its success pushed Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso into much bigger international circuits. Their breakout year included a viral Tiny Desk performance and a world tour spanning more than 60 shows across four continents, with stops at Coachella, Glastonbury, Roskilde, Fuji Rock, Outside Lands, Montreux and six editions of Lollapalooza.

The Grammy victory arrives at a turning point for the duo: they have said they plan to step back from their joint project for a period, making the award both a career milestone and a moment of pause before whatever comes next.
